Where are my frontal lobes?
It's 2.41am. I'm struggling with my notes for atypical development and language. If i hadn't had my frontal lobes, I would be sleeping now and waking up fresh and happy for my 9am examination. Yes, what joy we'll all be in without our frontal lobes. Of course, minus away the horrible implications of having terrible impairments in our language and cognitive processes, we would actually be happier people. More willing to trust, socialize and interact. Sometimes i think i have smaller than normal frontal lobes because i am often unable to inhibit inappropriate behaviours like procrastinating. Is that good or bad.
Our brain is absolutely amazing. William Syndrome children have low IQ just like Down Syndrome & Autism children but their cognitive impairment does not fail them on their language acquisition abilities. Down Syndrome children may be delayed in all areas of development due to their extra chromosome 21, they are extremely happy, friendly people with enough language abilities to hold an interesting conversation with you. Autistic children may appear weird but some but not all may possess savant talents, usually in drawing, due to their data driven processing. They're often confused with Asperger's which is on the same continuum but autistic children have impaired IQ while Asperger children have average or higher than average IQ.
I'm just rambling.
Every year we say goodbye
It always happens to be a lie
We'll see each other in the end
And hang out again as a clan
But then one day you came along
And say farewell my friend, so long
Was this the end
Was this the way
Or is this beginning of another day
This weird adventure with attractive pay
Together we embrace this new phase
This new chapter
This crazy rat race
But we always know, somehow
Be it future or now
In each others' lives, we'll continue to be found.
It's sad to know exams are coming to an end. Another year in school without so many of you's'. Let's not anticipate the fragility of friendships to befall on us. Let's make an effort to keep in touch.
