A Bizzare Concoction of Delightful Experiences.

ABCDEs of 2007. Yes it has been bizzare how many many many events unfold themselves upon your very eyes, ears, nose and mouth just to teach you what life could be.

Let's just update abit.

There was Christmas. Thanks to SH,J & FL, christmas was a blast!

This is huiyi and me playing Wii Boxing. It was damn hilarious lah and tiring for my flabby arms. Now we know huiyi is darn violent lah. She kept winning me in boxing.

Wii was fun but DAMNIT i had to be so violent when playing softball that i knocked the console into my favorite skin and it cracked. Now i have to buy a new skin. AND this was from switzerland. :'( Although i bought two from Swiss but this was a SKIN and it was PURPLE and BLING! Mega mega :'(

Before New Year, it was meeting up at council's all time fave Fish n Co. Well not really fave but we just always somehow end up here. Huizhi's going to Philadelphia. *envy*

New Year passed by quietly for me. A great dinner at En Dining Bar. FWAH. I loooovvveee the unagi fried rice. Please go try. It's really really good. Sorry no closeup on the rice but i just wanna plaster my face all over my own blog. HAHA!

I really love japanese food. After inagiku, i went sun with moon (all time fave place) and to En. Considering how deprived i am of going out, thrice is never enough. I miss terriyaki foie gras. Did i mention how i love escargot and i had them for xmas? HAHAHAH! And did i mention that during the kids' science camp, i helped the kids find a snail on a 'hunting' activity? Gosh, i could be french but i remembered i couldnt finish my rabbit patty kinda thingy when i was in paris. It was an utter waste of euros. :'( Did i mention how i love animals? When they're alive, i can't imagine them on my plates. Ew.
Look! The gigantic snail on my palm during a visit to the Edinburgh Zoo. Oh yes, they're awfully SLIMY. Even with that mega smile, I doubt I was real happy with that silmy big creature on my palm. Ha! Probably had it in my hands just to prove to myself, i'm not a snail hater. :P

Ok let's talk about my 2007. See if i could come up with 12 things i loved.

1. I actually kinda enjoyed the weather in Edinburgh because i could wear layers without being stared at and without sweating like a pig.

2. I am so glad i made these new friends. They were dear.

I loved it how we depended on each other for company in a foreign country and how we opened up to each other. Although not as knitted now, the friendship remains and the secrets are sealed with kisses. :) xoxo

3. I love it that we don't need to study and how i became the bartender'ess'. Well actually the booze and the shakers and glasses belonged to my fave flattie, Rosie. She was THE bartender'ess' and she's dangerous. Haha!

4. I love it that i went for sexy Timberlake's concert. It wasn't smashing but it was just as awesome. He was hawwt! :)~

5. I love the Highlands! I love Isle of Skye even if they changed your name to Eilean a' Cheò & i can't pronounce it. Haha! The blue skies are absolutely beautiful and the air's sooooooo fresh. Not to mention how the 7 of us endured being crammed to the backseats of a convertible. :S And how hospitable the Scottish were on the Isle. At least we got lucky. We were all invited to tea by an old couple whom we borrowed the toilet from. Love Spot, their frisky little dog with a spot on her head. :)

6. I ended up loving my travels despite facing many obstacles.

Most memorable of places.

Edinburgh's Salisbury Crag & Arthur Seat.

Meeting people in Berlin.

Switzerland

Meeting the normadic street magician from Sweden, Charlie, in Bern.

Staying over at Christian's in Zurich.

They were a very very hospitable family who couldn't speak English.

Riding on their pet horse, Kitty.

Charles' Bridge in Prague.

Visiting palaces in Vienna with great big gardens that you could get lost in.

Learning and visiting the art works of Antoni Gaudí.

Seeing the Eiffel Tower.

Visiting French châteaux in Tours, Loire Valley.

Hosted by someone who works in a French châteaux and has a beautiful backyard of roses and cherry trees.

Going to a Greek beach, Corfu.

Hurting my back during a cliff jump was horrible but I'm thankful for surviving it because i could have died. However the booze cruise was really an eye-opener. Jasmine would second that!

Visiting Mdm Tussauds in London. And watching London musicals!

Be at the spot where harry potter takes the Hogwarts Train! Platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross!

Being at amsterdam and trying their vices.

Suffering major food poisoning ain't fun. Mum nearly flew over. Sgp embassy was alerted by my poor frentic mum who was imagining the worst. And i lost so much weight by vomitting and shitting whole day, my belt was 2 holes looser. However, red light district was quite an experience. All shapes, sizes, colour and ages and at any time of the day.

Venice, romantic city isn't as romantic as i thought it to be.

Verona's Hotel Maxim was darn value for money.

Tuscany was a great place to chillax.

Florence had great designer buys.

Pisa! Another wonder of the world.

Finally know where sesame got their cartoon from. Keith Haring!

Really found a friend in Stella. She kindly took me in when i was in Goteburg. :))

Then became instant friends with Pingyong in Stockholm. Made a lasting impression on him by raiding his fridge on the night i arrived.

Loved the concept glasshouse cafe/shop in Stockholm.
Think i left out photos of Budapest but i particularly enjoyed Pálinka shots at a outdoor party that required less than a dollar to enter. Pálinka's alcohol content varies but 50% or more as the norm and they're taken as shots. Cool and yummy. :D

7. I love it how my parents came over to visit me especially mummykins who came twice just to celebrate my 21st and to ensure i need not worry about baggage by bringing them home.

8. I love the fact that my 21st birthday, unlike others, was celebrated in a foreign country with new found friends. :)

9. I love how i met up with everyone and everyone still loves me. :))

10. I enjoyed my stint in St Gabs.

11. It was good to see familiar faces living next door.

12. I love it that i know my loved ones are all doing okay. :)
I feel that i have definitely missed out some stuff but i guess it's all in my head. There were many tough times during the year - doubts, frustrations, loneliness, regret, anger, sadness but they were made up for by the other greater feelings of happiness, excitement, hopefulness, optimism, anticipation, joyfulness.

Indeed, 2007 has been A Bizzare Concoction of Delightful Experiences. 2008 would be as good i'm sure. :))
PS: Here's a picture of the desserts at Essential Brews. Visited with alv when we got back and since i am hungry now, this picture looks too good not to leave it up here. :D~

and so she ponders, wishes & scribbles
